Our Story
People International is an interdenominational Christian organization, whose vision is to see churches established that proclaim the Good News among the Muslim peoples of Central Asia and model true Christian living on the example of Jesus Christ.
People International was established in 1979 and since then has been researching Central Asia and making the needs of the Central Asian people known to Christians in other parts of the world.
Since 1980, People International has been sending in short-term teams and placing workers long-term on the field to live and work among the local people.
What We Do
People International has a two-fold approach. Firstly, we research Central Asia and make the needs of the Central Asian people known to Christians in other parts of the world and secondly, we send short-term teams and place workers long-term on the field in teams to live and work among the local people.
Our workers in Central Asia are involved in the work of church planting, friendship evangelism and scripture translation, as well as showing the love of Christ in practical ways through project work.
How We Do It
Our strategy is to place teams in Central Asia who focus on learning the language and the culture. These teams then model to new believers a strategy for the establishment of new churches.
We read in the New Testament that churches were formed wherever people became Christians.
While planting a church is a great accomplishment, our real job is to train and mobilize emerging leaders for effective ministry that will multiply throughout Central Asia.
While our aim is to proclaim the gospel where it has not previously been preached, our task is not complete until we see believers established in local churches where they can be built up in faith and made effective in the service of the Lord.
Who We Serve
People International works among the Muslim people groups living in the area stretching across Central Asia from Turkey to the Xinjiang Province of North-West China. This area includes more than fourteen different countries and regions and more than twenty people groups.
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no-one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.

Why Central Asia?
Communism fell in 1991 throughout Central Asia, yet its spiritual darkness still holds many people in fear and bondage.
There is a growing need for prayer, resources and Christian workers if we are going to advance the Kingdom of God throughout Central Asia.
Let us unite together and seek to move forward in confidence that God’s name is going to be truly glorified throughout Central Asia in the coming days!
We do the work because of the great need. One of the spiritually darkest areas of the world today is Central Asia where there are over 450 million unreached Muslim peoples.
They all need to see the light of the gospel and to know that Jesus loves them and that He died so that they could live. In the midst of political change, great uncertainty and moral darkness they need to experience the only true hope and joy found in Jesus who is the “light of the world.”
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” -John 8:12
We know from scripture that the Gospel must be preached to all nations before Jesus’ return. Central Asia represents a significant area of as yet “unreached” peoples. It is one of the last major areas of the world which has not heard of the Gospel, and where, with a few exceptions, there has been no indigenous church.
